One interesting destination to visit would be Polperro which is located on the southeast of Cornwall coast. It's a quaint fishing village perfect for summer vacations, about a mile from our Lodge. The place is well known for its tourist attractions, such as the South West Coast Path which offers day walks, so you can savour long walks by passing through fishermens villages. Whatever direction you take, you'll end up on lovely beaches such as Lansallo Beach on the West and Talland Bay on the East. Guided walks provide more information as the guides show you more attractive sites. Check out the Poleperro Museum of Fishing and Smuggling to understand its history and heritage. Look at the photographs and see how smuggling became associated with this famous place. Make sure to drop by at Couch house and be amazed at the Quiller's family history. Jonathan Couch and his forefathers acquired wealth through smuggling and buccaneering. In case you need refreshments, nearby pubs and restaurants are found in the village. If you're with children, then book boat trips that provides sightings of dolphins and seals. It would surely be an unforgettable moment for the family and an educational one as well.

If you're after some fishing, then check Portwrinkle, Crafthole, Bakelakes, and Looe. Each has their own unique features that provides fishing adventures. Commercial fishing is common at Portwrinkle, but if you're after the best catch of carp - then Crafthole should be your choice. When it comes to fly fishing, Bake lakes have three fly lakes to choose from. For the more adventurous type, perhaps shark fishing should be part of your itinerary. Looe is popular in Europe for shark fishing. Book boat trips in advance since this place is full during summer. You can choose from day (half or full) or night fishing. Check the fishing rules and regulations. There are shops where you can get your bait and tackle. Aside from fishing , East Looe beach offers many activities to the whole family. Although I have only covered a couple of places on the door step of our lodges, within a very short drive you will find the delights of Polruan, Fowey, Lost Withiel, Bodmin, Mount Edgcumbe, Kingsand and Cawsand, to mention just a few.
There is absolutely no way can you sample all the delights of the area in just one week, we have holidayed in Cornwall for more than thirty years and still not seen all it has to offer, we just love the place, hopefully you will too and visit often.
